Day 1 Chennai – Arrival

Activities: NAMASTE! Arrive at the international airport of Chennai. At the exit, you will be entitled to a traditional Indian welcome. Your driver will hold a sign with your name in the arrival hall. You will then be transferred to the hotel to do the Check-In. We are committed to providing any assistance during your stay and throughout your journey.
Chennai is the Capital of the southeastern state of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the four major metropolitan cities of India. Nowadays, it is quite difficult to believe that a small town of fishermen in 1639 became such a huge and beautiful metropolis.

Day 2 Chennai – Sightseeing

Where to eat: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: You will have a half-day tour in Chennai. Visit 13 km of Marina Beach, then St. George Fort built in 1653, which is currently being used for Governmental functions and events. Santhome Cathedral built around 14th / 15th century and the Kapaleshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. You will visit the Fort-Museum and National Art Gallery. Return to rest at your hotel.

Day 3 Chennai – Drive to Pundicherry

Where to eat: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, drive to Pondicherry and check-in at the hotel. Pondicherry is a maritime village on the eastern coast of India. Among its attractions, there is a coastline of 32 km, beaches lined with palm trees, standing waters, and beautiful fishing villages.
During the afternoon we will have a half day tour in the city of Pondicherry. We will visit the famous Aurobindo Ashram – residence of the 20th century saint and philosopher Sri Aurobindo, which participated in many commercial activities of Pondicherry. Later, visit the village of Auroville – a peaceful oasis designed by the French architect Roger Anger. Have a good time walking in the rest of this maritime city, maybe a dip in the calm sea, and at night return to your hotel to rest.

Day 4 Pundicherry – Drive to Tanjore

Where to eat: Breakfast in The hotel
Activities: Breakfast at your hotel and then depart for Tanjore. Check-in your hotel, and later rest or have a tour in the city and have a local contact with the people.

Day 5 Tanjore – Sightseeing

Activities: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: Breakfast at your hotel. Afterwards, have a half day tour through the city of Tanjore visiting Brahadeeswara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Afternoon free to discover a little bit more of the city, or return to the hotel for resting.

Day 6 Tanjore – Drive to Trichy

Where to eat: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, we depart Tanjore to get to Trichy. After check in at your hotel, visit Srirangam Temple, Ucchi Pillayar Temple, Rockford and Jambukeshwara Temple.

Day 7 Trichy – Drive to Madurai

Activities: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, drive to Madurai. Madurai is a city of over 2500 years old and is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu. Ancient base of learning, the architecture of the city has the form of a lotus flower. Check in and a free afternoon.

Day 8 Madurai – Sightseeing

Activities: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, you will visit the famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple. There are four entrances to this amazing complex of temples that raises in six acres. If you touch any of the stone pillars in the complex with any hard object you will feel amazing metallic sounds. They are known to be musical pillars. The total number of pillars in the temple is one thousand.
After, have a view of Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Gandhi Museum and Flower Market.
Later in the evening, we will take you to witness a special religious ceremony at Meenakshi Temple. At night Return to the hotel to rest.

Day 9 Madurai – Drive to Kanyakumari

Activities: Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, check-out from your hotel, and be ready to go to Kanyakumari. This is the most southern locality of India. Here you will actually experience paradise: you can stand on a point and see the sunrise and the sunset reflected in the immense sea.
Check in at your hotel and then visit Thanumalayan Temple, Vattakottai Fort, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Our Lady of Ransom Church and Swamithope Pathi.
At night enjoy the beach for a while, and go back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest

Day 10 Kanyakumari – Drive to Kovalam

Activities: AAfter breakfast, leave the beautiful Kanyakumari to discover a place even more beautiful than that. Drive to Kovalam and enjoy its unique and beautiful beaches the whole day.

Day 11 Kovalam – Leisure on Beaches

Activities:Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, you will spend the day relaxing at the beach. The beaches of Kovalam are known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This creates a coastline which beauty can only be matched in your dreams. Besides relaxing at this beautiful coastline, you’ve got the opportunity to stroll the local markets. Then you will return, completely relaxed, at your hotel to doze of in the amazing atmosphere the sea creates.

Day 12 Kovalam – Drive to Alleppey

Activities:Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, you will do the check out and start your journey towards Alleppey. This village is famous for its canotages, barges and fishing lakes. Upon your arrival, you will take a cruise through the, with shades of palm trees invested backwaters of Kerala.
You will spend the night aboard a houseboat giving you a truly amazing experience. The food is excellent and tastes even better underneath the breath-taking starry sky.

Day 13 Alleppey – Drive to Periyar

Activities:Breakfast in the houseboat
Activities: After breakfast at the houseboat, you will continue your journey to the city of Periyar (Thekkady). Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon you can take boat trip on Lake Periyar. From your boat you can observe and enjoy this wild safari. You will probably see among others, wild elephants, wild boar, bison. After this day full of nature, return to the hotel.

Day 14 Periyar – Drive to Cochin

Activities:Breakfast in the hotel
Activities: After breakfast, you will head towards Cochin. Cochin named after the Queen of the Arabian sea, is undoubtedly the commercial center of Kerala, where ancient civilization blends gracefully with modern life. Upon arrival,you will go for a sightseeing tour through Cochin. You will visit the San Francisco church built ing 1503 by the Portuguese. Here Vasco Da Gama was buried for 14 years before his remains were shipped to Lisbon.
Later, you will discover the built in 1568 synagogue. Known for its stunning Belgian chandeliers, beautiful Chinese tiles and many other accessories, this is one of the most popular attractions in Chochin. There after you will go to one of the most iconic sights of the fishermen’s town, the Chineses fishing nets. These nets are located close to the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the “Dutch Palace”.
In the evening, you will be attending a performance of the beautiful, colourful and fantastic Kathakali Drama dance. This masked dance was first performed 1500 years ago in Kerala and tells about the 9 emotions: serenity, wonder, kindness, love, anger, fear, despair, hatred and rage.

Day 15 Cochin (Departure)

After breakfast, you will make the check out and head towards the airport of Cochin. In case you have time before your departure, you will have the car available to visit the cheerful streets of Cochin for one last time. Then it’s time to take your respective flight to home.

HOTELS CLASSIFICATION IN INDIA:

In India there is no official classification for hotels, so this is why in this section we will try to explain you our opinion on them. We classify the hotels in the following categories:

3* Hotels: Basic but good hotels. This is our cheapest option. Each room has its own washroom. This option is similar to the 1 or 2 stars’ hotel in Europe.

4* Hotels: This is the recommended option for those who do not want to face any bad surprises and that would like to stay in a hotel which offers sufficient services and moderate luxury. This option is the equivalent to the 3* hotels in Europe.

5* Hotels: According to the European classification of hotels, these ones would correspond to the 4* hotels. We find these hotels very good for both the location and the quality/price ratio. These type of accommodation guarantee services and facilities more than appropriate.

Palace Hotels: Chains such as Taj (not available in all the cities) or Oberoi are the best examples belonging to this category. It entails a consistent economic difference compared to the 5* Hotels and in some cases they are situated quite far from the city-centres.
Nevertheless, if Luxury and Excellent Services is what you are looking for, these Hotels will definitely assure you comfort and Asian elegance.

Heritage: Belonging to this category are the hotels that will give you the experience of the real India. These hotels are decorated in a traditional Indian style. They exist in any kind of luxury and price range, for which you will generally pay more for the experience rather than the facilities and the services.
The heritage hotels can be divided into two categories: one more affordable and one more luxurious. The first type corresponds to the 4* hotels and the second one is closer to the palaces concerning the price and luxury.

ABOUT THE TRIPLE ROOMS:

Triple rooms in India are practically nonexistent. These type of rooms are the same size as the double ones with an extra bed. Hotels will not provide you any reduction or discount, so in some cases we recommend booking a double room plus one single room. Also, in some chains of hotels, mainly the 5 * and the Luxury ones do not have triple rooms.
